We are looking for an agile team member to join the Nairobi office to develop and innovate flavour solutions for our customers across the region and service prospective as well as current customers to maximize their product success. This is a unique opportunity to join a small, fast-paced team where you will report directly to the laboratory manager and work hands-on with the Global OSF Team. Responsibilities Your role: Provide technical and administrative support for the daily operation of the Application laboratory. Fulfil sample requests. Maintain stock of commonly used items in the laboratory. Assist in the tasting of flavours and raw materials. Good hygiene practices. Adhere to safety procedures, ensure a safe work environment, meet and exceed product quality expectations, and assist in achieving process reliability goals. Perform sanitation duties, proper housekeeping, and adhere to safety guidelines. Preparation of samples (Weighing and labelling) Laboratory tests, non-exhaustive list. Correctly packaging and shipping flavour samples to customers Track accordingly any samples shipped. Adhere to shipping priorities with instructions. Control of raw materials quality and shelf life in the Application Laboratory and other duties and tasks as assigned. To thrive in the role, you must be proactive, and curious, and directly report to the laboratory manager. Requirements, you are/have: Extremely Organised, precise, efficient, and reliable. Good attention to detail. Experience in Food Technology High School diploma or equivalent. General science knowledge 1-2 years of experience working in the food or food flavour industry in a laboratory environment. Background in Food/Biochemistry/Chemistry a plus Comfortable in a laboratory setting. Comfortable tasting flavours and ingredients. Computer proficient – Microsoft Suite knowledge helpful Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to lift 5, 10, and 25 kg occasionally required.
