Job description Established in 1985, the Institute of Social Sciences (ISS) is a non-profit organization headquartered at 8 Nelson Mandela Road, New Delhi-110070. The ISS addresses key social and economic issues through research, field program interventions, and collaborative efforts. Focus areas include local governance, poverty alleviation, gender equality, education, and health. The ISS is seeking interns/volunteers interested in gaining hands-on experience in content creation and research. Candidates will work at the ISS office in New Delhi for a minimum period of 3 months, with the potential to continue further based on mutual agreement. This is a full-time engagement, requiring five days a week under the guidance of senior program staff. The internship is unpaid. Key Responsibilities: • Assist in the preparation and development of various types of content, including materials for the ISS website, such as articles, blogs, media posts, and other content on development-related themes that align with the work and focus areas of the Institute. • Support senior program staff in research, analysis, report preparation, and any other related tasks. • Assist in producing research and data-driven briefs on contemporary social and economic issues. • Contribute to curating and managing content for events like workshops or deliberations. • Perform other functions as may be delegated. Responsibilities may vary over time according to the Institute's emerging needs. Eligibility Criteria: • Currently pursuing or completed a final year Bachelor’s or Master’s program (preferably in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Journalism, or related fields). • Excellent writing and analytical skills with attention to detail. • Strong grasp of social and economic issues in India and globally. • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. • Awareness of national and international development sector trends.
