Job Description
We aim to bring about a new paradigm in medical image diagnostics; providing intelligent, holistic, ethical, explainable, and patient-centric care. We are looking for innovative problem solvers. We want people who can empathize with the consumer, understand business problems, and design and deliver intelligent products. People who have experience working with medical imaging data from various sources. You will need to understand the nuances of different makes and manufacturers. You should be comfortable working with different image modalities including but not limited to DICOM. Understanding the DICOM standard in imaging, communication, and reporting is key. Performing the necessary preprocessing steps and enhancements to images as well as collaborating with annotation and PACS teams will be key. Responsibilities • Building DICOM data pipelines, integrating them with PACS, Imaging Informatic Systems, Viewers, and EMRs. • Ensuring Data Retrieval and collation from different Databases in compliance with DICOM standards. • Working with metadata, image compression, and correct carry forward of parameters from DICOM to NIFTI. • Eliminate viewer and acquisition-dependent variables between image series. • Understanding the differences in machine and manufacturer-specific imaging and metadata and ensuring homogeneity in the data that is transferred to the AI model for downstream tasks. • Performing the necessary image preprocessing, post-processing, and enhancement. • Working on understanding the analysis conducted by the AI diagnosis systems and understandably integrating that for viewing. • Understanding DICOM SEG, DICOM SR, and their nuances. • Creating Validation frameworks and defining parameters in conjunction with the AI team for DICOM image validation. • Working on DICOM to NIFTI and reverse conversion. And building pipelines for the same. • Understanding and building DICOMWeb frameworks for communication across different PACS and AI pipeline solutions. • Creating frameworks that follow interoperability standards and industry-wide best practices. • Working with various forms of medical image data from radiology and pathology. Requirements • Excellent understanding and hands-on experience of DICOM as imaging, communication, and reporting standards. • Experience working with different medical imaging formats and understanding their uses and limitations. • Experience with DICOM SEG and DICOM SR. • Good knowledge of manufacturer-specific and machine-specific differences and how to overcome them. • Understanding of DICOM communication standard with both TCP/IP and HTTPS. • In-depth knowledge of DICOMWeb and QR for data transfer and retrieval. • Knowledge of PACS, data storage, data retrieval, data transfer, and DICOM viewers. • Understanding NIFTI, segmentation, labeling, and viewing. • Experience working with libraries like Pydicom, nibabel, SimpleITK, dcmqi, and dcm2niix. • Functional and technical knowledge of metadata and image data of both DICOM and NIFTI and their conversion. • Understanding of various medical imaging tests such as MRI and CT and understanding their differences and the variation observed in their application to different diagnostic regimes and different organs. • Understanding and experience with interoperability frameworks like FHIR and HL7 will be an advantage. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a good attitude and keen to adapt to evolving technologies. • Education: BE/B Tech.
