The Housekeeping department is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation across the hospital.
Its role ensures a safe, infection-free, and comfortable environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Daily cleaning of patient rooms, OPD, ICU, OT, corridors, and washrooms
Deep cleaning as per schedule
Waste segregation and disposal as per biomedical waste guidelines
Linen management (collection, washing, distribution)
Maintaining hygiene during high patient occupancy
Supporting infection control protocols
Assisting during emergency cleaning requirements
Maintaining stock of cleaning materials
👨⚕️ GDA (General Duty Assistant) – Description (Professional)
GDA staff support nursing, housekeeping, and patient-care activities by handling non-clinical tasks that improve workflow efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting in patient shifting (wheelchair, stretcher, ward transfers)
Supporting nursing staff in basic care activities (not medical procedures)
Helping in ward arrangement and bed-making
Transporting samples, files, and reports as required
Assisting in cleaning and sanitization tasks when needed
Providing support during emergency situations
Helping patients with basic mobility and comfort support
Coordinating with different departments for smooth operations
