FEA engineer (Magnetic Simulation using COMSOL/Ansys)

Job Requirements

Job Overview:

A FEA engineer with 4-8 years of experience in the industrial domain capable of magnetic simulation using COMSOL or Ansys. He will also be responsible for geometry clean-up and meshing using ANSA tool. One should have a good knowledge of mesh morphing techniques to incorporate design changes and to enable quick remeshing due to geometry changes.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Perform magnetic field simulation on subassemblies such as speakers using COMSOL or Ansys. Perform various DoE to optimize the structure by studying the placement of speakers during shipment meeting IATA specifications.

• Recommend optimized layouts by rearranging or reorienting items to reduce magnetic field density optimizing the package placement.

• Generate finite element meshes for complex consumer electronic assemblies using ANSA. Help with finite element model set-up tasks such as assigning materials, boundary conditions etc.

• Meet schedule, mesh quality, model-setup requirements as prescribed by Amazon

• Enable connections in FE models where appropriate (spot-welds, multi-point-constraints (MPCs), cohesive elements, connector elements etc.)

• Resolve issues related to mesh quality, convergence to optimize model

• Improve computational efficiency by performing quality checks as per provided guidelines

• Perform modifications to or develop new pre-processing automation codes as required

• Interact with analysis team from different geographic locations (US, India, China) to understand requirements, estimate timelines, understand component specific mesh / model setup requirements, morphing requirements to enable design DOEs etc.

• Clean-up or edit CAD of parts and assemblies using CREO or ANSA such that critical design features per customer guidelines are retained

• Maintain the change list to track component replacements, mesh refinement details, suppressed geometries etc.

Work Experience

Required Skills (Technical Competency):

• Exceptional Meshing skills in ANSA

• Good Knowledge in mesh morphing techniques for complex solid models

• Magnetic Simulation using COMSOL or Ansys with pre and post-processing

• Knowledge in MS Office tools
