
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of Fabric Requirement Planner.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and managing fabric requirements based on product design and order quantities. They will also research and select reliable fabric vendors, negotiate rates, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality fabrics.
Key Responsibilities
• Fabric Requirement Planning: Determine fabric requirements based on product design and order quantity, including type, GSM, color, print, and quality.
• Vendor Research & Selection: Identify reliable fabric suppliers through market research or online platforms, obtain quality samples, compare rates and quality, and select the final vendor.
• Rate Negotiation: Negotiate prices for bulk orders, discuss transportation costs, GST, wastage, and delivery terms with the selected vendor.
• Sample Approval: Test swatch or meter samples for shrinkage, color bleeding, and softness before approving bulk orders.
• Order Placement & Follow-Up: Create purchase orders, confirm delivery times, and conduct regular follow-ups to ensure timely delivery and prevent delays.
• Quality Inspection: Check fabric quality upon arrival at the warehouse or factory, including color matching, GSM, length/width, and defects. Address any issues with the vendor for return or replacement.
• Payment Coordination: Plan and execute payment schedules according to advance, part-payment, or credit terms, ensuring timely payments and maintaining records.
• Relationship Management: Foster long-term professional relationships with vendors, prioritizing communication and mutual understanding.
Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in any field is required for this role.
