About the role Key duties and responsibilities
Manage customer data base - by building the best routes for our dedicated fleet.
Proactively identify and address issues related to transportation, such as delays, route changes, or unforeseen challenges.

Efficiently plan transportation routes to optimize delivery schedules and minimize transit times.
Implement effective problem-solving strategies to minimize disruptions and maintain service levels.
Increase customer service levels.
Coordinate with drivers, carriers, and logistics partners to ensure timely and accurate execution of transport plans.
Collaborate with regulatory bodies and internal teams to address compliance issues and implement corrective measures.
Utilize tracking systems to monitor the real-time status of shipments and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to transportation efficiency, on-time delivery, and cost-effectiveness.
Analyze performance data to identify trends, assess operational effectiveness, and recommend improvements.
Negotiate contracts and terms to optimize service levels and control costs.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with carriers, vendors, and transportation service providers.
Move customers and orders between routes.
Master routes to be maintained, individually optimized.
Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety standards, and documentation requirements.
Maintain clear and effective communication with drivers, ensuring they have all necessary information and support during transit.
Be actively involved in and support change initiatives.
Manage - plan and utilize all internal resources to ensure maximum productivity.
Liaise with all levels of management in FMCG environment.
Equipment care to ensure GPS units are kept in good working order.
Maintain an excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
To work within operating areas as determined by management and the needs of the business.
Follow standard operating procedures and safe working practices.
To ensure that all documentations are accounted for and completed as per instruction.
Maintain cooperation with dispatch to ensure correct information is gathered for reporting purposes.
Complete daily allocation sheet, correctly, accurately, and timeously.
Report discrepancies to Transport Manager.
Record daily information of trip sheets collected from Dispatch Clerks.
Conduct all communication in a polite professional manner which promotes respect, goodwill, and trust.
Keep work areas tidy, safe, and neat at all times.
