
Job Description
• Receives general direction but exercises discretion as to personal work details. Makes appropriate decisions using decision support tools and critical thinking. Willing and successful in taking moderate risk.
• Able to work on concept layouts along with preliminary design feasibility and DFMEA.
• Should be expert in the CAD tool (CREO)
• Should be able to carry out basic design calculations.
• Should be able to carry out GD&T and tolerance stack-ups
• Should be aware of DFMAS (Design for manufacturability, assembly, and serviceability) and design for environment.
• Should be knowledgeable about design & development for manufacturing processes preferably plastic, sheet metal and various casting processes
• Should be knowledgeable about tool design & development for different manufacturing processes
• Should be aware of finite element analysis.
• Should have basic knowledge of manufacturing engineering and Jigs/fixtures design
• He should be able to work with Windchill PLM and data management systems
• He should be able to work on ERP (preferably SAP) systems under manager’s guidance.
• In case of multiple projects on-hand, prioritize the projects with close coordination with the business unit.
• Should be able to assist in prioritizing medium projects and should be able to independently prioritize multiple small projects.
• Execute/allocate the project requests by meeting the business unit requirements in respect to scope, timeline, and specifics.
• Work in coordination with reporting manager and team to execute and complete the project from start to end by ensuring timeline and quality.
• Should be able to provide and seek solutions to resolve technical as well as non-technical issues that may affect the project with a proactive approach.
• Keep manager updated on all project related issues, concerns and achievements and seek his support whenever required.
• Should be able to work and handle individual projects efficiently.
• Seek and implement corrective actions and preventive measures regarding quality and timelines for the projects and maintain proper documentation under the guidance of the manager.
• Provide value added suggestions for design improvements and cost reductions, wherever required.
• Should be able to handle simple projects and contribute to complex projects under guidance of the superiors.
• Generate and manage daily time logs and related reports.
• Ensure project status is up to date
• Also update project information at the appropriate database
• Assist/ guide junior associates and trainees in documentation
• Ensure all set process are followed with allowed deviation from the business units and develop as well as document new processes and design practices as per business needs
• Should be conversant with the set processes which relate to his work function
• Consistently follow the set processes thoroughly
• Learn and adapt processes related to work function.
• Ensure all Kohler core competencies are well understood and practiced.
• Should be eager to learn about the latest developments in the field of technology with respect to the job requirements.
• Miscellaneous documentation as assigned.

• Projects below 40 hours –
• * Associates across all designations will be responsible and authorized to review, approve and release the service(s) to customer.
• Projects above 40 hours –
• * Associates will be responsible to get the review and approval of their deliverable from minimum of one level higher authority above their designation or their immediate next level superior. After review and approval an associate is authorized to release the service(s) to customer.
Education/Experience
• Master of Engineering degree with 1-2 year of relevant experience or Bachelor of Engineering degree with min. 3-4 years of relevant experience or Diploma with min. 5-6 year of relevant experience.
