Full job description Job Purpose The Western Cape Mobility Department Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to assist with the effective regulation of public transport services and the effective implementation of legislative requirements. Minimum Requirements An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification); A minimum of 3 years administrative and management experience. Recommendation None. Key Performance Areas To conduct inquiries in terms of the Western Cape Road Transportation Act, Amendment Law (8 of 1996); Handle all enquiries queries, complaints, accusations and allegations; Write documents, correspondence and reports; Update and maintain data on system; Liaise with stakeholders and role-players in the minibus taxi industry; Notifying complainants and respondents on registrars’ decisions. Competencies Knowledge of the following: Legislation, regulatory frameworks, policies and best practices that have a bearing on the line functions; Information systems that aid in the management of knowledge and information pertaining to the line function; Relevant software packages; Project management; Operational management practices; Procurement and tendering processes; Policy development and operational management, monitoring and review processes; Public service procedures, processes and systems; Public Finance Management Act, National and Provincial Treasury Regulations, other financial policies, prescripts, directives and collective agreements; Criminal procedure Act; Anti-corruption and fraud legislation.
