Job Purpose
The Department of Agriculture, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a competent individual to provide administrative and secretarial support to the Cape Metropole District Manager and Senior Agricultural Advisor.
Minimum Requirements
Senior Certificate (Grade 12 or equivalent qualification); A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence. NB: People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply.
Recommendation
National Diploma or equivalent qualification; Relevant experience.
Key Performance Areas
Updating the registers and statistics; Handling routine enquires; Make photocopies and receive or send e-mails/facsimile; Distribute documents/packages to various stakeholders as required; Keep and maintain the filing system for projects in the sub-directorate; Type letters and/or other correspondence when required; Keep and maintain the income and outgoing document register of the component; Provide secretariate assistance and logistical support with stakeholder engagements; Provide clerical support with the compiliation of training plans.
Competencies
Knowledge and understanding of effective records management system; Written and verbal communication skills; Proven computer literacy in MS Office (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); Interpersonal, organising and human relation skills; Ability to accept accountability and responsibility; Ability to work independently and unsupervised.

R 216 417 - R 254 928 per annum (Salary level 5)
