Job Description:

Crew Life at Sea is seeking a highly skilled and experienced 1st Assistant Repairman to join our team. As a member of our crew, you will have the opportunity to work and travel on state-of-the-art vessels while providing essential repair and maintenance services.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Chief Repairman in overseeing the repair, maintenance, and operation of all mechanical and electrical systems on board the vessel

Conduct routine inspections and identify any potential issues or areas in need of repair

Perform repairs and maintenance on various equipment and systems, including but not limited to engines, generators, pumps, and HVAC systems

Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment

Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed

Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures

Train and mentor junior repairmen on board

Communicate effectively with other crew members and superiors to coordinate repairs and maintenance tasks

Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years of experience as a 1st Assistant Repairman on board a vessel

Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams

Experience with welding and fabrication is a plus

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical examination and drug test

Valid STCW certification and seafarer's medical certificate
