General Accountant

Mission Description

Based in Nairobi and reporting to the Financial COntroller, the candidate will be responsible for:-

Posting of general accounting Journals

Prepare accounting journals

Ensure journals are properly approved before booking

Post approved journals in the accounting system

Match general ledgers

Management of staff accounts

Post staff account vouchers

Regularly review outstanding staff balances and follow up for expense booking

Prepare payroll deduction list where balance is outstanding for long

Communicate outstanding balances with staff

Matching staff account

Follow up on staff final due for payment

Review staff airtime and fuel consumption to ensure no overutilization

Inter-company accounts management

Analyze inter-company ledger balances

Follow up on intercompany billings

Prepare inter billing (418200) balance report

Regular match off inter-billing accounts

Follow up on disputes in inter-billing accounts

Bank reconciliations

Prepare monthly bank reconciliations

Review and resolve reconciling items in bank reconciliations

Liaise with Treasury to close outstanding items in the bank reconciliations

General duties

Prepare and submit payroll by products. Eg Nssf, Nhif, AHL,NITA and other payroll related deductions

Prepare and submit with holding taxes

Support customer matching

Support end month closing process

Relieve senior accountants when on leave

Profile

Business Degree

CPA (K), ACCA, CFA or equivalent

Working knowledge of SAP
