Embedded Hardware Architect
Job Description
You will be responsible for designing a new circuitry for new products and replacing ageing/obsolete parts and improving the performance of sophisticated medical equipment. Your design work will include embedded systems, digital and analog circuitry, power supplies and connectivity interfaces. You will support the assurance of supply of our products by resolving component obsolescence issues. You will drive the quality and performance of our products by identifying opportunities for improvement in the field, supplier and manufacturing data. You will support the manufacturing engineering team in troubleshooting and resolving issues discovered during production. You are responsible for all aspects of design documentation including requirements specification, engineering analysis, schematic capture, test plans/procedures, verification, the release of circuit boards and products to production, and production start-up support.
Your role:
• Create robust, reliable electrical board/system designs for critical care medical equipment with complex hardware and regulatory requirements.
• Design test plans as per requirements.
• Testing of the developed boards for verification.
• Develop and document designs in compliance with Quality System requirements.
• Integrate new technology, techniques, and concepts to enhance functionality, simplify designs, improve reliability, and reduce production costs.
• Work with Manufacturing Engineering and contract manufacturers to plan and execute Design for Manufacturability and Design for Testability activities

EDUCATION:
This position requires a minimum of a BE in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering from an accredited university.
EXPERIENCE:
The successful candidate will have:
• 12+ years of experience in Embedded hardware design with 16/32-bit micro-processor/controller-based systems, with demonstrated success carrying projects through to a robust, verified, producible design and volume production
• 5+ years of experience on STM microcontroller-based design.
• Good working experience in Wireless technology Bluetooth/BLE, Wi-Fi , LTE (4G/5G) , NFC.
• Hands-on experience on SPI, I2C, UART, PWM, ADC, DAC, Memories, USB, CAN, Ethernet.
• Microprocessor development Hands on Knowledge of System - (domain knowledge for designs SW, HW, Mech system)
• Strong experience with design for test/built-in test, worst case analysis, timing analysis, etc.
• Must be proficient with CAE tools such as Spice, Schematic Capture as well as experienced with Layout tools
• Previous electronic design experience in a regulated environment (preferably medical device industry)
• EMC compliant circuit and circuit board design.
• Troubleshooting of complex electronics systems.
• Power Supply, Battery Management, Analog Circuitry
• Experience using laboratory tools equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMM’s, Power supplies, Signal generators, analyzers, soldering stations etc.
• Experience interacting directly with suppliers, operation/manufacturing services, and engineering support services.
