Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The CAD Operator is responsible for creating, modifying, and maintaining detailed technical drawings and plans using

computer-aided design (CAD) software. The role supports engineers, architects, and other professionals in the

development of designs, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications and standards

Drawing and Drafting

• Create detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics based on design specifications.

• Update and revise existing CAD drawings to reflect changes or corrections.

• Interpret sketches, specifications, and design concepts into accurate CAD models and layouts.

Collaboration

• Work closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to understand project requirements.

• Coordinate with team members to ensure designs align with project goals and technical standards.

Quality Assurance

• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with industry and company standards.

• Conduct self-checks and incorporate feedback to ensure high-quality outputs.

Documentation

• Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and related project files.

• Prepare bill of materials (BOMs) and other documentation associated with technical drawings.

Software and Tools

• Operate CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or similar tools.

• Stay updated with new software features and enhancements to improve efficiency.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Education: Diploma or associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.

Certification in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Certified Professional) is an advantage.

Experience: 1–3 years of experience as a CAD Operator or in a similar drafting/design role.

Experience in specialized industries (e.g., civil, mechanical, or electrical) is preferred.
