We’re looking for an ambitious and results-driven Area Sales Manager to take ownership of market development for our new Kenyan-made wine brand across the Mt. Kenya region. This is a field-based role ideal for someone entrepreneurial, strategic, and ready to roll up their sleeves to introduce and grow a brand from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
Market Penetration & Business Development
Develop and execute a regional sales strategy to introduce and grow the wine brand in the Mt. Kenya region.
Identify and onboard distributors, wholesalers, and HORECA (Hotels, Restaurants, Cafés) partners.
Drive product visibility and availability in relevant retail outlets and consumption points.
Relationship Management
Build strong relationships with key stakeholders including bar/restaurant owners, retail buyers, and regional distributors.
Conduct regular visits to accounts to ensure product availability, staff training, and customer satisfaction.
Act as the face of the brand in the region, championing its story and quality.
Sales Execution
Achieve monthly and quarterly sales volume targets.
Execute trade activations, tastings, and promotional campaigns to build product awareness.
Monitor inventory levels with partners and ensure timely replenishment.
Market Intelligence & Reporting
Provide weekly reports on sales activities, competitor insights, market trends, and customer feedback.
Propose data-driven ideas to expand reach and increase brand share in the region.
Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor's/Diploma in a Business related course
5 + years’ experience in field sales, preferably in FMCG, beverage, or alcohol sales.
Demonstrated experience working independently to open new markets or accounts.
Strong network within the Mt. Kenya region’s HORECA or retail/distribution channels is a plus.
