Our client, a leading cloud-based analytics company based in Johannesburg, is urgently seeking a skilled and motivated Data Scientist to join their high-performing team. This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary package aligned with the candidate’s experience and expertise.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and deploying data models that extract meaningful insights from complex datasets. You will play a pivotal role in shaping data-driven strategies, building scalable solutions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation across various business domains.

Requirements:

A tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Data Science or Data Analytics role

Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills

Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Microsoft Excel

Experience building dashboards and data visualisations for business use

Understanding of ETL concepts and data pipeline fundamentals

Experience with Jupyter notebooks

Exposure to cloud environments like AWS or Google Cloud (advantageous)

Excellent communication skills in English

Desirable:

Experience supporting operational analytics across sales, customer, or product data

Familiarity with hypothesis testing and basic statistical modelling

Strong sense of initiative and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
