UX Design Intern

Safe Software is seeking a UX Design Intern to join our Product Development team and contribute to the design of our web applications.

This is a four-month, full-time placement (with the possibility of an 8-month extension). To ensure the best onboarding and mentorship experience, interns are required to work on-premise at least 2 days per week at our Surrey, BC office, with the flexibility to work remotely from home for the remaining days.

As part of the UX Design team, you’ll collaborate with a small team of designers, developers, and other professionals to create a seamless user experience. You’ll also work closely with other UX designers to ensure consistency across all products, provide and receive feedback, and contribute to the overall UX practice at Safe Software.

• Familiarity with visual design and prototyping tools such as Figma or Adobe Creative Cloud.

• Understanding of visual design principles (UI, icons, and illustration).

• Passion for user-centric design and advocacy for user needs.

• A portfolio showcasing previous projects you’re proud of.

Desired Skills / Bonus Points

• Experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, or similar development tracking systems.

• Familiarity with Google Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, etc.).

• Students in their 3rd year or above are preferred.

• Prior co-op or work experience in UX/UI, Interaction Design, or Product Design is an asset.
