Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Strategy:

Lead and coordinate financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for all entities within the group.

Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic business decisions.

Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls across the group.

Accounting Operations:

Oversee the preparation and consolidation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS).

Supervise general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed asset accounting.

Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations.

Compliance & Audit:

Ensure full compliance with statutory requirements, including tax filings (VAT, PAYE, WHT,), regulatory returns, and audit obligations.

Coordinate both internal and external audits, and implement audit recommendations.

Ensure compliance with all financial and accounting regulations applicable to the retail, fashion, and events industries.

Team Management:

Lead, supervise, and develop the accounting team across the group.

Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the finance department.

Facilitate regular training and capacity development for finance staff.

Cashflow & Treasury Management:

Monitor cash flow, manage working capital, and oversee treasury functions.

Liaise with financial institutions regarding facilities, banking operations, and funding requirements.

Implement and monitor effective cost control and risk management strategies.

Systems & Reporting Tools:

Oversee the implementation and optimal use of accounting and ERP systems across all business units.

Ensure data integrity and accurate financial analytics for management decision-making.

Generate regular financial performance reports for senior management.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA) is mandatory.

Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management, with at least 3 years in a senior or group-level role.

Proven experience managing accounts in a multi-business environment (preferably retail, fashion, or events).

Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Tally, or ERP systems).

Excellent understanding of tax laws, compliance, and reporting standards.
