A Lead Firmware Engineer responsible for designing and programming a small module or a large component and designing a feature, set of features, or whole feature area. She/he will work independently and contribute to the immediate team and to other teams across business. She/he will Lead design discussion in a limited manner.
Proficient in real-time embedded programming using C/C++ on 16/32 bit microprocessors and/or DSPs with multiple peripherals and communication interfaces.
As a Lead Embedded Software Development Engineer, you will be responsible for:
• Significant experience with few of the following communication protocols used in an industrial controls or semiconductor environment: EtherCAT, DeviceNet, CANOpen, Profibus/Profinet, TCP/IP
• Working knowledge of at least one commercial RTOS
• Comfortable in BSP (Board Support Package) development and board bring up.
• Experience working in a PC-based development environment and working with in-circuit emulators, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other equipment for embedded systems development
• Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills using network analysis tools such as WireShark, TCP DUMP, etc.
• Must have strong verbal, writing, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Must have the ability to work within a team environment. Must have worked in a team with size of 10 engineers or larger.
• Be able to read and understand schematics and capable of debugging new designs.
• Experience with unit testing and test-driven development.

To be successful in this role you will:
• Have Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline from an accredited university or college.
• Have Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in firmware development and real time data processing and management.
• Have Sound knowledge and hands on Real Time Applications, Microcontroller / DSP architecture and Device Drivers.
• Have Minimum of 5+ years of experience writing code for an embedded processor.
• Have Minimum of 5+ years of experience using C++.
• Have Knowledge of microcontroller based digital circuit design and peripheral interface and hands-on of testing tools like Digital Storage Oscilloscope and DMM.
