Responsibilities

Food Preparation & Cooking:

Prepare ingredients and cook meals as per the menu, recipes, and portion control guidelines.

Handle breakfast, lunch, dinner, or late-night orders, depending on shift schedule.

Cook items on the grill, fryer, oven, or stove as assigned.

Plating & Presentation:

Plate dishes with attention to detail and visual appeal.

Ensure consistency in taste, texture, temperature, and appearance.

Double-check orders before sending out to waitstaff or dispatch.

Kitchen Cleanliness & Hygiene:

Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workstation at all times.

Follow all food safety regulations and hygiene standards.

Wash utensils and equipment used during prep and cooking.

Inventory & Stock Support:

Monitor stock levels of ingredients and report shortages to the Head Chef or kitchen supervisor.

Properly label and store food to avoid spoilage or cross-contamination.

Assist in receiving and storing kitchen deliveries.

Teamwork & Coordination:

Work closely with fellow cooks, grillers, and service staff to ensure timely order completion.

Assist in other sections of the kitchen when required during peak hours.

Communicate effectively to maintain smooth kitchen operations.

Compliance & Safety:

Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly.

Use protective wear (gloves, aprons, caps) and follow all health codes.

Report accidents, hazards, or equipment malfunctions immediately.

Requirements

Proven experience as a cook in a restaurant, club, or hospitality kitchen.

Knowledge of food preparation techniques and various cooking methods.

Ability to work under pressure and multitask during busy shifts.

Understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety practices.

Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods.

Culinary training or certification is an added advantage.
