Project Mechanical and Materials Engineer (Construction)

Job Summary

We are hiring a Project Mechanical and Materials Engineer for a construction project in Umuahia.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in designing mechanical systems, selecting construction materials, and supervising project sites,ideally within the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) sector.

Key Duties

Supervise mechanical installations and ensure compliance with design and safety standards

Select and evaluate materials for strength, durability, and cost-effectiveness

Interpret technical drawings using tools like AutoCAD and SolidWorks

Collaborate with engineers and contractors to resolve design and site issues

Conduct site inspections and prepare technical reports

Provide technical support during procurement and construction phases

Monitor project progress and recommend efficiency improvements.

Requirements

HND / B.Sc Degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering

Minimum of 5 years' experience in construction, engineering, or EPC projects

Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and construction materials

Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools

Good communication and problem-solving skills

Certification (where applicable) is an advantage

Must be based in or ready to relocate to Umuahia.
