By effectively building positive rapport and relationships both internally and externally, the successful candidate will help us achieve our mission that together we deliver services that make a difference in our community.

Responsibilities Reporting to the Supervisor, Recreation Customer Service, the Receptionist/Cashier is responsible for providing customer service at the reception desk, via telephone and on-line, including:

  • dealing effectively with customer complaints and inquiries, explaining programs, services, policies and procedures regarding health club, fitness and aquatics services, and other facilities and programs for the Town of Whitby;
  • handling revenue for admissions and program registrations;
  • reconciling daily receipts;
  • booking and processing of permits for indoor recreation facilities and community centre pool
  • promoting, receiving and processing health club memberships;
  • providing clerical assistance in the form of typing, filing, record keeping, etc.; and
  • assisting with other projects/duties as may be required.
