Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

Communications:

Develop and implement the Guinean Forests Communications and Outreach Strategy, Branding Strategy, and Knowledge Management Strategy in collaboration with CI, BirdLife International, and program partners.

Serve as the primary point of contact for program information requests, managing inquiries through the program’s online portal and other channels.

Coordinate with country project leads and GEF Implementing Agencies to ensure effective information flow and knowledge sharing across countries.

Oversee the design and maintenance of the program’s online portal, working with CI teams and external partners to ensure up-to-date content.

Develop communication materials, including reports, case studies, and briefing documents, to support collaboration between CI and its partners.

Work with CI-GEF’s communications teams to ensure public-facing materials align with branding and messaging guidelines.

Manage the program’s social media presence, posting regular updates, knowledge products, webinar announcements, and project press releases.

Coordinate the development of field stories and creative content from country projects for dissemination through digital platforms.

Identify opportunities to amplify the program’s visibility through press releases, publications, and engagement with external media outlets.

Support the organization and promotion of knowledge-sharing events, webinars, and training sessions.

Provide expertise in tailoring knowledge products for different audiences and ensuring their effective dissemination.

Program Website & Social Media Management:

Regularly update the program website with news, events, publications, blog posts, and relevant content.

Maintain the Program’s active social media presence, including:

Developing a weekly and monthly social media calendar in coordination with CI and BirdLife communications leads.

Managing daily social media activities on Twitter/X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and emerging platforms.

Identifying and amplifying partner content that aligns with program priorities.

Monitoring social media engagement and tracking analytics to optimize content strategy.

Supporting the preparation and coverage of program-related conferences and events, including Twitter/X live spaces.

Program Newsletter & Graphic Design:

Design and produce the quarterly program newsletter, ensuring high-quality visuals and engaging content (distributed via Mailchimp or similar platforms).

Develop branded communication materials, including reports, infographics, social media graphics, and promotional materials (e.g., roll-up banners).

Collaborate with CI and BirdLife communications teams to ensure all design work aligns with CI, GEF, Birdlife’s, and the program’s branding guidelines.

Provide creative input and refinements to enhance the program’s overall visual identity.

Knowledge Management:

Design and manage the program’s knowledge management database, ensuring efficient storage, curation, and retrieval of key resources.

Develop knowledge management products (e.g., case studies, lessons learned, best practices) to capture and share insights from project implementation.

Coordinate with CI-GEF, other GEF Implementing Agencies, and Integrated Programs to exchange best practices in knowledge management and learning.

Organize and facilitate knowledge exchange activities, such as expert panels, study tours, and focus groups.

Provide additional knowledge management support as needed.
