About the job

Summary The Industrial Labourer, Specialized Services will be working alongside a team of highly trained individuals who handle the company’s most dynamic projects. The Industrial Labourer must be versatile and open to challenges. This individual will be highly motivated, coachable, and willing to obtain further training while always displaying a positive attitude.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Involved with execution of chemical and petroleum transfers including materials handling.
  • Fully engaged as an entrant, man watch, or rescue attendant for Confined Space Entry projects inclusive of tank cleanings.
  • Involvement with HAZMAT Emergency Response and responding to spills.
  • Involvement with transloading of railcars (Both liquid and solid products)
  • Involvement with environmental projects and assisting as required.
  • Involvement with technical rescue services.
  • Fully engaged with decontamination projects under direction of project leader.
  • Participation in projects that are deemed out of scope or require more planning and preparation.
  • Willingness to lead by example and work safely, ensuring compliance with all GFL’s policies and procedures.
  • Affiliation and involvement with various divisions, and various work types throughout the company.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements

  • A valid Class 5 driver’s license with a fairly clean driving abstract is required; valid Class 1 or 3 driver’s license would be considered an asset.
  • Physically fit and able to wear chemical protective clothing and respiratory protection from time to time as required.
