Yard Operations Manager

Yard Operations

Plan and manage cargo receiving, storage, handling, and dispatch.

Oversee yard layout, traffic flow, and equipment allocation.

Coordinate with transport, maintenance, and security teams for smooth operations.

Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE)

Enforce compliance with ISO, OSHA, IOGP, and API standards.

Manage high-risk operations (eg, lifting, hazardous materials) with proper PTWs.

Lead safety meetings, audits, and emergency response drills.

Oil & Gas Cargo Handling

Lead handling of oil & gas equipment, pipes, and hazardous cargo.

Ensure compliance with IOGP and API pipe handling standards.

Work closely with project and engineering teams for specialized logistics.

Team Management

Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team (operators, riggers, supervisors).

Implement shift schedules, KPIs, and performance evaluations.

Promote a safety-first, inclusive culture.

Equipment Oversight

Manage and inspect yard equipment (forklifts, cranes, reach stackers).

Ensure maintenance schedules are followed to avoid downtime.

Digital Systems & Reporting

Use Yard Management Systems (YMS), digital PTW tools, and cargo tracking platforms.

Monitor performance via dashboards and ensure paperless processes.

Stakeholder Engagement

Liaise with internal teams, customers, regulatory bodies (eg, KRA, KPA), and contractors.

Support audits, inspections, and customer site visits.

Sustainability

Implement waste reduction, energy-efficient practices, and carbon-reduction initiatives.

Support company green logistics goals.
