Job Description

Introduction

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented HR Intern to join our team in Pinetown, Durban on a 6-month contract. This role offers valuable exposure across various HR functions and is ideal for a recent Human Resources graduate eager to gain practical, hands-on experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding:

Support recruitment of junior staff, including CV screening, reference checks, arranging interviews, and onboarding new hires.

Employment Contracts & Staff Records:

Draft employment contracts, track fixed-term contracts, and ensure accurate and up-to-date staff filing and recordkeeping.

Payroll Support:

Compile the monthly payroll input file, ensuring all changes, new hires, terminations, and leave data are accurately captured.

HR Administration:

Maintain the HR dashboard and staff organogram, manage employee files, and assist with general HR queries.

Leave & Attendance:

Process leave forms, track attendance, manage leave queries, and prepare reports on leave trends.

Performance & Employee Relations:

Assist with performance appraisal tracking, capturing job profiles, and coordinating disciplinary/grievance procedures.

Training & Compliance:

Keep training and skills development records updated for SETA submissions and assist with Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) admin.

Exits & Terminations:

Conduct exit interviews, prepare UI19s and certificates of service, and assist with final payroll processing and file archiving.

Desired Experience & Qualification

National Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management (completed or in progress)

1 year HR experience

Strong administrative and organisational skills

Attention to detail and accuracy

Good written and verbal communication skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Ability to handle confidential information professionally

Package & Remuneration

Stipend - R5000 pm
