2.1 Clinic Assistant is assisting Physician/ Registered Nurse/ Midwife with non-Nursing duties for patients with
various healthcare needs.
2.2 Clinic Assistant assist in performing routine nonclinical tasks under the supervision of a Physician/ Registered
Nurse/ Midwife.
3.1 To assist Physician in clinic including accessing, adding, and modifying the patient’s medical records under the
physician’s supervision.
3.2 Request the necessary laboratory investigation for the patient based on physician order.
3.3 Supports the Clinical team by collecting medical reports from various departments.
3.4 To assist the provision of high-quality care to patients and their families under the direction and supervision of
the Physician/ Registered Nurse/ Midwife.
3.5 Demonstrate competence in the provision of care to meet the needs of patients whilst promoting dignity,
privacy, and respect.
3.6 To perform basic care under the direction of Physician/ Registered Nurse/ Midwife.
3.7 To assist all patients who are able, towards independence and activity under the direction of the Physician/
Registered Nurse/ Midwife.
3.8 To provide patient comfort prior physician assessment by utilizing resources and materials; transporting
patients for fetal medicine if required.
3.9 To assist patient transfer to other departments.
3.10 To transport patient records between departments.
3.11 To support the registered nurse staff and ward clerk in the clerical, administrative and reception duties in the
ward.
3.12 To assist in maintenance of stocks and non-medical supplies.
3.13 To develop and utilize good communication skills, receive, and pass on telephone message.
3.14 To correctly use aids and equipment supplied for patients. Report needs and obvious defects of this equipment
to the Registered Nurse/ Midwife in-charge.
3.15 To cover the duties of the ward clerk in absence.
3.16 To advice the Registered Nurse/ Midwife in charge of malfunctioning equipment.
3.17 To liaise with the Registered Nurse/ Midwife in-charge in the assessment of equipment and medical consumable
items requirements.
3.18 To ensure appropriate utilization of resources effectively and efficiently.
3.19 To provide positive patient experience through the delivery of high-quality customer service.
3.20 To identify unsafe care practices and contribute to corrective actions.
3.21 Observe and maintain confidentiality of information data relating to patients, staff, service, and the
